Our one-man racing team racked up its first 1st place finish. Tom, one of our staff, won the Men’s Novice 30-39 category at the Freetown 50 this past weekend, one of the toughest XC races in New England. He is also the winner of the Eastern Fat Tire Assocation New England Championship Series (EFTA NECS) in his category, as he placed 3rd at The Treasure Valley Ralley and Wallum Lake races earlier this year. Congrats Tom! And good luck with your Cyclocross season! Want to learn about bike racing in New England or great trails to ride? Stop by SBK and ask around!
We’re proud to announce we have our very first batch of Somerville Bike Kitchen T-shirts! Available in multiple unisex sizes in either black or red for $15. Busy night here at SBK! Some bike tear downs and tune ups. Truing a wheel. Fixing a flat.
Mid-summer is always a great time to upgrade your ride. One of our staff switched out their old 3×10 drivetrain for a new 1×10 setup. Want to do your own upgrades? At SBK you can do that too!
One of our staff mechanics rebuilt this 1998 Specialized Stumpjumper from a mix of used/new parts. It was built mostly from donations to SBK from community members and local bike shops. This old frame/fork has been restored to life and is now is ready to roll with a modern 1×10 MTB drivetrian. You can make what’s old new again at SBK!
